Staff displayed a PowerPoint presentation outlining the application to consider new mitigation options as presented.
Three mitigation options were reviewed in responding to the exclusion from farmland.
1. Creation of a permanent full-time Agricultural Enforcement and Compliance Officer position
2. Agriculture buffer - potentially 10M and potentially demonstrative in nature, to showcase with interpretive
3. Creation of an agriculture signage program
Meant to be a substantial improvement to ag. in the community.
Staff responded to questions from the Committee.
Staff confirmed that there are no immediate plans at this point for the remainder of the property.
Reviewed the communication with the young agrarians to date to potentially lease remaining land to farm.
Staff provided some background to the property being industrial since 1995 with an incremental approach to the redevelopment of the site and remnant of the subject property.
