The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.

Opening remarks by the Chair regarding conduct of the meeting were read.

Displayed a PowerPoint presentation outlining the application and responded to questions from the Committee.

Property originally within the regional district.

Designated and intended for airport use as zoned A2 and within the ALR.

Surrounding area is all within the ALR.

There are no existing agricultural uses on the subject property.

Anedotoal Comments

Committee applauds YLW for their ongoing support of the agricultural industry in the Okanagan Valley.

Airport growth is a key strategic asset and being able to land larger planes directly in Kelowna will result in significant costs savings for local shippers and fruit packers.

Additional access to markets directly from Kelowna will be extremely beneficial to farmers.

ALC Decisions - Update

 

An update was provided on the application adjacent to the Glenmore Landfill with the consolidation of many titles into one parcel north of the landfill.
